Every time someone lands a jump, his voice is all squeaky and tense "ooooh, he really held on for that landing", even though they all look the same.
The Chinese pair that won the medal performed most wonderfully in the shorts - no falls, no slip ups. They made it looks easy. And they were 31 and 36 years old! And they got gold! Usually, 18 is over-the-hill in figure skating.

I hated the mime costumes the German pair wore in the shorts. I was like "50 point deduction for mime/clown costumes!" I really liked the swan costumes on the Russian pair during the shorts. Then there was the pair that hated each other - the commentators mentioned that they needed a sports psychologist. You could totally see it in the way they skated - just going through the motions, no joy at all in it. I liked the music and costumes of the Ukraine (?) couple during the shorts - electric blue wetsuit-looking jumpsuits to new-age-ish music. B)
But music with screeching violins, it's like nails on a chalk-board to my ears. >.<
It is disappointing when they fall down, especially with a sort of dull regularity. But, I just try to look past that and enjoy the skill and grace. I can barely keep upright on ice skates, so I'm impressed with them zooming this way and that, going on one foot, twirling and jumping and spinning.
