But that is part of the game. If i can run up and slit your throat without being seen in reality that does not men i can do it in the game because the game puts enchantments on gear for a reason
With a dagger that does 23 damage (easy to do), with the db gloves and the perk, you can one hit a draugr deathlord on master power attacking.
This is wrong, combined with how overpowered sneaking is.
But I suppose it's a single player game, you can choose not to use the gloves, I would just prefer a game that's more balanced.

Nah, they put stuff into the game because it looks good on paper, but the devs don't even test how it actually works in the game, or if it works well. With 30x multiplier and nothing else, you can theoretically 1 shot everything in the game. There is just about nothing with enough health to survive it. I don't understand why they thought it was a good idea to give everything huge hp but 0 armor.
They should remove the db gloves affect, it's to overpowered combined with the perk. Maybe add a more useful enchantment to the gloves and hand wraps, like improve sneak.
No. It's perfectly balanced against the Perks that the game takes into account that your enemies are going to be having. If you don't like the way the enchantments on the DB gloves work, then don't wear them. Just go off of your Perk-given x6 or x15 multiplier. no one is forcing you to use the DB equipment.
Like I said in an earlier post. It's all about player choice. If you don't like something or believe that it's broken, then don't use it. But it's actually very balanced for the game.

If it's so balanced, then why don't enemy assassins do 15/30x backstabs, and disappear in broad daylight?
Because they choose the worst, sunlit places to hide. I can snipe them from almost 100 yards out.
Wrong. Because the terrible enemy Ai is set to pretty much never sneak, or do sneak attacks, and rarely if ever have more than a handful of perks. They just didn't care.

And you're also assuming that the game is going to make an enemy assassin a Master of Sneak. They put you up against an average, run-of-the-mill opponent. Not a poo-storm in your worst nightmare.

And why not, it's a big world...surely there are people who surpass our upstart player character, who have been "at the game" much longer than they have?
what do you want to do to not make this possible? raise the dmg even more on higher lvl items?
if it is also about sneakdmg, than it is kinda obvious why daggers do so much dmg. they want to make realistical assassinations possible and because of the kinda large healthpools of higher lvl targets, you need a big multiplier.

Not to mention that a shot to the throat with a knife is lethal to anyone...
One shotting dragons is what happens when you play on easy difficulties, while at the same time using all the high-profile gear / skills such as dark brotherhood gauntlets and smithing.
Yeah, we should be the best at everything because we're dragonborn. That's not mary sue at all right?
After two days I'm the best smith in Skyrim, better than even Eorlund Gray-Mane who is considered the best smith in Tamriel and whose family has been working the Skyforge for DECADES. I can make equipment better than artifacts made by the Daedric lords themselves.....give me a break.
It is an RPG. They can't make it realistc. Would it really take like 300 arrows to kill a mammoth? Probably not. It just comes with this style of game. At high levels, and with good weapons it is inevitable you will start to one hit things.
I can be standing right in front of an enemy in broad daylight staring at them in an open room and they wont detect me because sneak is based too much off numbers. Is that really realistic? ; ) ES needs to meld their sneak numbers system with the light, cover, sound, movement based one from Thief.
I hope you're joking, light does play a factor, as do your boots, whether or not your moving and I think your weight.
If you don't like how your character is performing in the game, make a different character.
If a Perk or Skill is doing too much for you or too little for you, pick different skills and perks.
If the weapons are doing too much or too little for you, get a different weapon.
If you want to make a uber character that still gets his butt kicked in a fight, then find a different game.
haha took the words right outta my mouth.
when i first started skyrim my first character was assasin with sneak maxed out but i found it to easy it was like a was invisible. so on my next character i only put 3 perks in stealth & left out silence, silent roll & shadow warrior. i still used the other perks but it was still challenging...

I think I only have a few Perks in Sneak. I get detected all the time if I sneak in a stupid manner. Now, I could make myself more sneaky by picking more Perks and using different Equipment, but I choose to play differently.
Sneaking is way too OP when maxed out, I've had enemies pushing me out of the way in a narrow corridor and still not detecting me. I had to re-roll that character because he could sneak into any house, clean it out entirely right under the owners nose and walk out without being seen. The line showed hidden but shopkeepers still followed you around in private areas of the shop even though they didn't actually see you take the stuff right in front of them when they are looking directly at you. I even pushed one house owner out of the way as I sneaked past into the bedroom to steal a specific item for the thieves guild, I still went completely unnoticed.
There's a 6 foot tall Khajiit weighing nearly 250 pounds in black leather armor crouched at your feet and pushing you out of the way and you still don't see them?
