Primm Walkthrough Video

Post » Thu May 26, 2011 11:25 pm

People prioritize different things.
This is certainly true.

I don't think I quite get the lore part in this case, but fair enough. (Although, that is a lot of agony over weapon that seems to be lobbing lumps of napalm. :
My only peeve with game objects, is that if they are presented as relics (IE. the original articles themselves, and not recent variants), then they should look as close to the original articles as possible.
(and these days, there is no real limitations on that.)

Before you get too worked up over the incinerator.. its a low end weapon its only doing 21 dps tho I wouldnt be shocked if it cuts through dt...

As for the rt slow mo replay.. they say in the vid its an OPTION you can turn it off if you like.

Well I think that New Vegas is doing a pretty good job on that, the Glock Plasma pistol and the Winchester Plasma rifle both look pretty spot on.
The only complaint is that the current version of the Sniper rifle looks like the F3 version, which I think is supposed to be a different (older?) model of the same DKS-501 gun, but it doesn't bother me that much. Maybe all the .308 versions of the DKS looked like that, who knows.

Though from what I can tell, the F3 version is very much like the F1/2 version of the gun, it just has a muzzle break, skeletonized stock, and a bipod.

Well, lets hope the companions are made of sturdier stuff than the temps.

That guy went down comically fast.

It's gonna make it feel satisfying to keep those guys alive, huh?

In pretty much all of the videos I've seen there seems to be some heavy lag going on. I really hope they get it under control with a patch or two.

They may want to look into some of the techniques people have used to optimize oblivion .nifs without reducing quality of the mesh (pyffi) or look into making use of something like streamline if they can't optimize performance much farther.

I really think Gamebryo needs to go after this game. Thankfully I've got a decent computer so I shouldn't have too much trouble myself.

Are you sure its the game and not just the video? the first video i watched was laggy, but then i watched it on youtube and it ran smoothly, so try that and make sure your not just seeing a bad quality video?

Thanks for the find! All I can say is, THIS IS AMAZING. At first, I thought the iron sights were going to be crappy and that pistol was going to have the same reload as the .32. Thanks obsidian for putting some real effort into this! Unlike some other games coming out this year..

VATS is still the I win button. Pete would have been screwed without VATS.

Personally I've found that sometimes, not using VATS can yet amazing results as well :D . And, really, he seems to have focused on using VATS exclusively...

Without VATS I would have been dead in so many situations in Fallout 3. Seeing Pete on low health, almost about to die using VATS to save himself brought back up many memories of using VATS the way he did.
God, I can't wait anymore for New Vegas.

Well, they still could but blood might be replaced by confetti :celebration:

Is there somewhere I could vote for confetti death animations instead of gruesome death animations? :D

Serously, if it's ever possible to choose to have gruesome death animations or not, I wish they'd program that option in for people like me. I don't want them to make the game all tame or anything, especially not for the rest of you, but for me, it would be ok to sterilize the death animations a bit.

Loved this video, can't wait until the game comes out. I think I have my name. Harlow - that might be it but she can't remember if it's her last name or first name because she was shot in the head. :o See you in the desert.

The VATS saved my life too.The shooting in the game wasn't top-notch to help me survive some situations on low health.

Maybe it's a previous model, like the laser rifles and plasma rifles...

It is isn't it?

Well it just seems like a weird spin on the lore seeing as top of the line Enclave soldiers are the only one's wearing it while a band of escaped convicts just "happened" to stumble across it.

I'm not fishing for a name.
I'm not convinced it's something other than the Heavy Incinerator.

I'm seeing a Heavy Incinerator there, I'm hearing a narrator describe it like one.
I guess my eyes are made out of cotton balls and french crackers since I'm apparently blind as a bat.
And that my ears has chop sticks nailed a decimeter deep into my brain.

But the heavy Incinerator was as far as I can remember the first fire-based weapon which shot balls of fire in the Fallout series.
And now we have two models?
Where have the second model been all this time?
And why haven't we seen anyone use it before?
I thought the HI was a new design by the Enclave.

I think sawyer meant that it wasn't a regular escaped convict it was the leader of the whole thing.

EDIT: Enduring Protectron has already said this.

Well, believe me or not, but I didn't use V.A.T.S. that much. Aiming'n'shooting people in the head from 400 metres away with a 1911 (courtesy of FOOK 2) and actually killing them gives you satisfaction like nothing else

They need to add lean in the game. Could have leaned around the corner and popped some of the guys.

You can thank the consoles and their gamepads for that. There's just not enough buttons, therefore not much combat related and similar things can be added
