Hm, well that helps. A bit. I still feel that the overall gameplay feels poorly executed. The basic shooting mechanic feels unsatisfying and at times the aiming feels strange, and the slicers seem to take too many shots. Then there's the wrench. Some fights are more like whack-a-slicer than anything else. It's just stale and dry, with nothing going for it, despite the plasmids. What exactly it was the captivated me the first time, I just can't remember.
I like the different methods you can use to take down splicers. I love the accuracy of the pistol, but it doesn't pack a lot of punch. Antipersonel rounds help take down regular Splicers pretty well. The machine gun fires lots of bullets, but eats through ammo fast and the accuracy isn't that great over really long distances. Shotgun packs a helluva punch, but only at close range. Chemical thrower is silly, grenade launcher usually hurt me more than helped, and the crossbow was fun. Then you add in the plasmids. I ice the Houdinis and blast 'em with the pistol; spider splicers get a shotgun-full of lead, and lead splicers get electrobolted and shot with my pistol. Or I unleash
the bees.

I rarely used the wrench at all and had little need for the wrench-upgrading plasmids. My faaaavorite plasmid was the chameleon plasmid. I love the camera and taking pictures.
In the new game, you not only get a camera, you get a video camera! I like earning extra plasmids from diligent research - even if that means I take a few bruises from a Rosie.

Anyone ever play "Chronicles of the Sword" on the PS1? Is it any good?
