Vampire Lord and Werebear.

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 5:51 am

I'd love to see the werebear and vampire lord come to the light of Skyrim's average day.

Although I've got a problem with the vampire lord, with it's wings. As well it wouldn't fit every race nor females.
They'd have to chop off those wings, make it either levitate or just run/walk and give it many versions for the different races/females.
As well as give it a good enough questline to make it feel like it's a hard to get reward, maybe with involvement from the volkihar tribe.

If that was done then it'd be worth the try. I might even make a character just to suit it.

I agree, the wings don't suit it but the demonic form does, it separates it from the other vampire types and makes the volkihar stand out and since the volkihar more or less svck in this game, they need that form to regain some face.

its called a plot hole and laziness, Volkihars are Volkihars and you can get infected by all the different names vampires in the game, it will just yiled the same result. Appearance does matter, the order did not have yellowish red eyes with black eye balls, the volkihar do and of course werewolves would look different, they were created by witches not hircine. Volkihars are ice-based vampires and its proven in game with their frost-resistance which the order does not have.

Again i say people are desperately trying believe that they are cyrodiil vampires because of the same game mechanic and perhaps a plot hole. To me its simply a cheap trick on bethesda's part since they resorted to copying and an error in story since movarth is a volkihar despite being attacked by an order vampire.
Sinding was not created by witches. He is different than the ones encountered in the Companions. Yet he looks the same.

And so what if they are called the Volkihar? Doesn't mean anything other than they are named after those vampires. It is laziness indeed. And we have no way of knowing which vampire is which due to game mechanics and lore. So until Bethesda releases something to explain which vampire is in Skyrim. I think people wanted Volkihar so badly, thay now "anything" goes. Yet time and time against vampires in Skyrm, the named NPC's at least, show various traits as the Cyrodiilic ones.

It was never said that the volkihar were uncivilised or were unable to be civilised just that they dwell in caves under the ice....which they do.
Well yeah, we should wait before be jumping on any wagon but so far they are called Volkihar.
Hopefully bethesda will do something in the upcoming DLC but i hope to devil that they won't end up being the order since its a "been there, done that".
we should get to play a different style of vampirism and not rehash oblivions, so they should correct many things about the current volkihar. add a vampiric frost breath for instance and more ice-based and physical bonuses. Vampire lord would be an excellent start.

If they add the Volkihar and make them like that, they should completely make them unable to blend in. Since that is what made the Cyrodiilic vampires unique. It would be idiotic to just make them have the same powers. They should simply add two clans and a few quests for each of them like in Morrowind. The Volkihar, which have different playstyles like you mentioned. Frost-spells and frost breath and etc. Make the model different as well. While add the Cyrodiilic vampire to battle the Volkihar. A miniature version of the Civil War questline, but with vampires.

Sybille Stentor has the qualities of a Cyrodiilic vampire already. She loathes barbaric vampires, she hangs around the Blue Palace which is mostly Imperial influenced with the highest nobles of Skyrim. And she blends in society and is similar to the Pale Lady when it is implied that she feeds on prisoners.

Still. Why even add apperance to the mix? Werewolves look different, but they are still werewolves. You think Bethesda is still going to make things look the same? They have red eyes, they have pale skin and fangs. It's a vampire. Enough said. And the Order vampires are the only vampires that can blend in, so I refuse to believe they are all the Volkihar. It's just a lame attempt to introduce those ice junkies into the came. Movarth Piquine's presence supports the Cyrodiilic vampires in Skyrim.

You two are arguing over something that can be solved very easily, is it not possible that the Volkihar decided to make the same pact with Clavicus Vile because they wanted to be able to blend in so they could stand on even ground with the Order.

We have already considered that and so far the order is the only know clan that made the deal with clavicus vale, if bethesda pulls that one for the explanation why they have the same mechanic then it proves bethesda has either ran out of ideas or can't be bothered to make new vampire types.

To werewolf&vampire

If they do something like that then i hope the volkihar would still be able to walk into cities without getting attacked on sight because that will be a quest breaker like the morrowind vampires were.

of course one possible explanation which i recently just thought up is that volkihar were always like this but no one knew because no lives to tell the tale except Movarth who could have been infected by them.

As for when the priest attacked him, he either played dead or the priest didn't kill him in the attack as he might have tried to turn him. The priest says "he didn't land the first or the last attack" or something, so that could easily mean he was knocked out just as much as it could have meant he was killed.

You have any idea how lame that would be? Suddenly werewolves and vampires decide to have pacts now? It would destroy the uniqueness the Cyrodiilic tribe had. Why not make every single vampire able to blend in, then? I think Bethesda is going downhill with some of the lore.

I think you might be looking too much into the whole knockout thing with Movarth. Bethesda implied that he was killed or worst, bitten by the priest. Why would the priest knock him out after he revealed himself as a vampire? It wouldn't make sense.

Volkihar should walk into cities unnoticed when they have a helmet or a mask that can obsure their faces, which indeed can be gnarled and ugly as most savage vampires are. But they can be more powerful physically than the Cyrodiilic vampires and have lesser drawbacks.

Indeed, they should look similar to the vampire lord.

As for the knockout thing, i meant that since he could have been infected by a volkihar from the attack, he might have been unwittingly undead by the time he was at the chapel and so he would be thought dead after the attack or if bitten, the order strain would have no effect on him.

Id like to see both, but with more work put into the vampire lord, make it more lore friendly, possibly just a VERY strong and ugly version of a regular vampire, not a flying demon though its cool looking, it doesnt fit. Werebear? Hell yes. I love were forms

p.s Werewolf > Vampire.

Edit: New idea, Vampire lords might be able to blend in more then other versions of vampires, like they would be more experienced and know how to survive and not be hunted down as a vampire. But if they are ever discovered they take on a very powerful form, something like that?

Imp minions would be so much fun, but I don't like the vampire lord too much.

As for werebear, I don't know. Doesn't seem to be too much different from werewolves

I would like the ability to actually fly as a Vampire Lord, Also, I just want Vampire Lord to look like Skyrim's Vampires but just with deep glowing red eyes and cool looking fangs..But the fangs should not look goofy like they do on the cat race,

I definitely agree that if that was the case then Bethesda is going downhill, and I am not happy about the vampires in Skyrim because there is no explanation, I was just saying it is possible that in the 200 years that have pasted in TES the Volkihar could have seen that if they want to compete with the Order and survive they need to be able to bland into society to help manipulate it just as the Order does.

It wasn't the Volkihar that made a daedric pact in order to blend in, i believe it was one of the other clans of Skyrim. In the book "Immortal Blood", it does not say the Volkihar was the only clan in Skyrim, they were just the most powerful clan in Skyrim. It's entirely possible that one of the other clans made a daedric pact, with oh say, Sanguine, and became the "Sanguinare", able to blend into society.
I think Bethesda actually originally planned to flesh out the Volkihar as a seperate strain that the player could contract and join, but they couldn't due to time restraints, so threw in what they did have "done", the "Sanguinare". Otherwise, why have vampires that are just "Vampire", and have vampires that are "Volkihar Vampire"? Not to mention, we were shown concept art of a Vampire that noone has seen in game yet, and she looked different from any Vampire we have seen before in previous TES games, almost like a "Primordial" or "Proto" Vampire. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4lrm97dBqNo/TUFlxQiW7CI/AAAAAAAAAZM/n_xn6TWnSA8/s1600/artofskyrim_013_femmonster.jpg?__sf=1303445029 It's likely that was actually concept art of "Lamae Beolfag/Bal" herself. Why do concept art of her, if she's not gonna be in game? They planned to add more than they could at the time. This, combined with how the Vigilants of Stendarr feel like there should be more to them and are "unfinished", leads me to believe that we'll be seeing a DLC involving Vampires sometime.

I don't see the point of a vampire lord. The Skyrim story only spans a few months; you become a vampire..youre..well, nothing. You're the guy that drags the dead bodies out and mops the floor. How do you get to be a lord in 6 months? Is there a correspondance course? Certification program? I thought vampire powers accumulated through time and bloodline. Even if they made vampirism much cooler, I don't see how your character could become a powerful one without a silly lot device. Meh..not so interested in this one.

both are pretty dope. im not really down with the oh is it lore friendly though thing. If we do that wont we never be adding new creatures to fight? idk i dont wanna just fight stuff and use armor from the older games, i wanna see some new stuff, they are good at it. dragon shouts has to be one of the best most unique concepts ive seen in a fantasy world. i trust beth with knowing what will fit and what wont. werebear though is a must, there was that book that says that they are the most c ommon werebeasts in skyrim. them not being there kinda GOES AGAINST lore which is different n they should be there the vamp is a toss up i guess i like it tho

Only way i can think of them implementing the player being able to become a "Vampire Lord", is if they introduce Lamae Beolfag, and as a reward for completing many quests for her, she directly infects you herself. Not only being the oldest Vampire in all of Tamriel, but also being the progenitor/source of the entire vampire "race", i'd assume you'd get an uber powerful strain of Vampirism from her. As seen in the concept art of her, she's pretty brutal looking, so i'd assume the player would be able to become a monstrous creature similar to the "Vampire Lord" they showed in the Game Jam, after being infected by her.

The Order is the only clan that has made a pact to blend in and that is with Clavicus Vile. I was suggesting that maybe in the 200 hundred years that has passed since Oblivion maybe the Volkihar made a pact as well. And I am pretty sure that picture is of a wispmother I think I remember someone saying that.
