Ever since I installed the game its been horrible to play: The sounds dont work, the game crashes 10 minutes into playing, IMMENSE lag,NPC dialogue doesnt work(text shows up and lips move thats all).Someone plz help i'm upset badly with the game, i've had it on release day and once I sarted it up its been nothing but horrible.
The two fixes I've had the most success with, and which it sounds like you need, are the d3d9.dll fix: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34778 (alternate ATI version which I haven't personally used: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34970 ) ; and adding an exception for the New Vegas .exe files for the FFDSHOW audio codecs if you have them. If you aren't able to do this, simply uninstall any codec packs you have (k-lite and CCCP are the most common). If you don't have the FFDSHOW codecs, then I can't help you there. The first fix will vastly improve lag/stuttering especially around NPCs, while the second will solve random audio issues. I hope that helps.
my bug is with ranger in Novac, [...]
That reminds me, another bug is that there's a way to get him to teach you the take-down twice by passing a skill check talking to him after he teaches you as a reward.
More bugs from me:
-Being underwater for more than a minute will almost always crash my game. I have all water options turned to their minimum and everything except refractions and reflections turned off. This last time it caused such intense overheating that my laptop critically failed and shut itself down. My laptop usually runs relatively cool while running NV, it's only underwater that it goes crazy, and the crashes aren't always overheating related (if the temperature of the CPU immediately post-crash is any indication).
-There's a
slight problem with the Evolved Centaur mesh post-decapitation: http://imgur.com/YR0sT.jpg
EDIT: Actually, it's only when I'm underwater in Lake Mead. Other places make the laptop hot and can cause minor slowdown, but I haven't had crashes except there - and I've had a crash every time I've ventured underwater in Lake Mead, without exception.
