Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #33

Ah yes. Didn't IGN end up rating Skyrim higher than Dark Souls anyways?

I think so, but lets not get back to that topic. It was beaten to death over and over :teehee:

Lol, im actually playing dark souls right now.

I got my skyrim RP character to the exact point I want them for the DLC and they are on hold.

Playing through Dark souls while I wait for E3. Skyrim is definately my favorite, but dark souls is a freaking amazing game with the exception of the number of people who cheat in multiplayer.

I somehow missed what happened with dark souls vs. skyrim. Anybody got a summary? (pm to stay on topic)

In responce to earlier post:
I have hope that all the new lycanthropy features will be added. I would even take them without story back if I had to. They are very important parts of my RP character that I have been waiting for.

Isnt it obvious?
The plot is around Snow Elves that want eternal darkness and you are to stop it, thus Dawnguard.
Oh, and they added crossbows.

So basically, I dreamt that Dawnguard was a guild.
They're a kickass gang of vamp hunters, and you help them and they're like join us.
They give you a crossbow cus why the hell not.
During your jolly adventures with your new found chums, you venture into a deep crypt full of vampires, convinced there is something inside. You unlock a big coffin, and out pops the Snow Prince. He's like "wow im tired. Thanks for the help buddy :D" then a vampire runs over and bites him.
He turns and then declares war on the surface world, armed with vampires AND falmer.
You bassically get screwed.

That is not a bad idea, except it could be once you unlock the coffin the Snow Prince is already a vampire, and he kills the other vampire hunters but spares you since you let him out. He tells you to meet him and so and so place, where you can join him and his vampire clan. At this point you could either go join the Snow Prince, where you would get turned into a vampire, or you can return to the vampire hunters and tell them what happened. This way the player has two options, and two separate questlines.

If the story is about vampires, this is a good way to do it.

I can always still hope for more werewolf quests, but vampires do need their moment in the spotlight, even if I do hate them. (which means I would have fun with the vampire hunter faction)

They can put in as much of a vampire storyline as they want, as long as you do not HAVE to become one in the dlc. I prefer vampires as enemies.

that actually sounds awesome. Separate questlines are the way forward. Something Bethesda forgot with Skyrim...

Combining the fact that they keep giving us gamejam stuff and that it is one of the more requested features I think we will get it eventually even if the DLC doesn't include it.

I loved the way they did bloodmoon, by your choice of becoming a werewolf you got the choice of seeing the story from two different perspectives. The same rewards are available to both sides but they have different ways of getting them.

My personal hope for the DLC: return to the island of solstheim where there are at least these three quests:

-Finding/fighting the snow prince (main quest)

-A group of vampires has discovered an ancient vampire lord (possibly the snow prince) and you must defeat him (either as an act of defending solstheim or if you are a vampire to take his power from him)

-there are rumors of an old man in the woods who has served hircine for most of his life. You can find and kill him (to protect a village) or speak to him and learn his secrets. (possibility to become a werebear / perk tree)

Ahh bloodmoon  its still my favourite TES Expansion! I want more stuff from solstheim added to skyrim D: like the armors, clothes, robes, weapons and that kind of stuff. I even purchased a cheap copy of bloodmoon to just get a map of solstheim x) did that a few weeks ago

Same here, mainly because it had werewolves, but the story for Bloodmoon was really cool. Plus we got to build a colony.

You know, I just realised having vampire quests on solstheim would make sense. There were a lot of vampire clans in morrowind. They would have to move somewhere after it was destroyed.

Maybe we get to defend/ prey upon the colony that nerevar helped found.

I loved it first becouse it had more nordic feel to it,and it was just so different from morrowind :) different from vvardenfell,Been a fan of nords since bloodmoon. I wish some of the stuff from solstheim got into skyrim.

Yes, and there was a direct connection between werewolves and Hircine. Those visions we got from the Daedric Prince were very memorable. I think I might go and play it again.

I would actually love to return to solstheim,Alot of people will just say, bah!we have already been there! yes we have, but alot has changed since we last was there. And i mean if dawnguard takes places in solstheim,It must at least have some werewolf content! :) or even werebears!

I would rather join them. Out of all the vampires, they seem the most interesting clan. Their members are like Palpatine from Star Wars!
Exactly, Skyrim is lacking non-barbarized vampires, I mean Babete, really? What about that Hern... he is so weak can't even be called a vampire. The Order would be an extremely interesting addition... think of it: Vampires, politics and The Thalmor... its a recipe for success.
