PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #21

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 6:38 am

RDR multiplayer is all I've been on recently, rediscovering the million ways I love that game. It's unrivalled. Meanwhile wholesale inertia has set in over DG which I guess is what exactly what they want, right?

Exactly

Games get delayed, all the time. Some have been delayed for years, some get pushed back by months, some by a few weeks. It happens. When it happens, people get disappointed, but it doesn't blow up into what this has become.

I'm honestly just getting bored of coming back here to talk to you guys on the situation, no offense, it's just been the same thing for a few months now.

This is my first time back here posting in a few threads xD

Cheer up... we're coming up on the one-month anniversary of GStaff's last update... perhaps if he remains punctual with the whole "We're as disappointed as you with our lack of progress" spiel, we could start making it a sort of monthly festival: PS3 owners could gather in Vampire and/or bloated-save-file costumes to toast the occasion... drinks and un-reliable web-links could be exchanged... and then everyone could retire to play 'Borderlands 2'.

:ermm: And bethesda will put on ps3 costumes and wave signs saying "no more Exclusivity deals or broken games treat us fairly" while they party then retire from working on the problem enraging the community more. Your just as guilty in the broken record department as they are. Just nice to see they are trying to fix the issue.... :user:

Pete Hines Rarely Plays DLC... So probably wouldn't play Dawnguard.

Some games get delayed and are still complete rubbish when they get released - Duke Nukem anyone? :D

You are correct , it has been the same thing for months now and you can blame Bethesda for that, if there is one thing they seem to be good at, it's the information vacuum.

He really needs to just be quiet at this point. If he isn't going to say anything, he needs to not say anything.

Right! You know what gets me the most? Not ONE apology from anyone of any kind. Not a "We apoplogize for the delay", not a "We apologize for the problems". Nothing that admits their accountablility for the PS3 problems.

Whatever.....

And now i'm seeing stuff like these two articles

http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Bethesda-Pete-Hines-Tells-Angry-PS3-Gamers-Main-Game-What-Counts-DLC-47060.html

http://www.inentertainment.co.uk/20120919/third-skyrim-dlc-ideas-ps3-support-just-crazy/

The first link is an article is the most distressing imo as it highlights just a horrible attitude that seems to be pervasive in all of this PS3 DLC for Skyrim stuff. The second one... it felt kinda like a big boot to the face while you are already down.

I swear, i wouldn't believe a company would do what Bethesda is doing to a good chunk of their customers if i wasn't one of them. I mean really, what other industry could this all go on in?

What I find funny is people are cancelling pre-orders for dishonored...Hello Bethesda is Dishonored publisher not its developer. Arkane studio's is Developing Dishonored so by cancelling you just crapped on Arkane studio's for Bethesda's faults. Way to point the finger at the wrong people..

Happens all the time in the world, unfortunately. My alma mater is getting heavily punished right now for the crimes of a few people on their own whim and desire and their ability to keep it a secret for so many years.

Sorry, that's just how it is for me at least.

Arkane looks to have a good game made with Dishonored. But Dishonored is a Bethesda property, regardless of who actually makes it. And as such i'll be giving that game a pass.

Bethesda gets not one cent more from me until their current fiasco is a cleared up and they acknowledge their missteps. 'Cleared up' for me means either DLC is released as DLC and not a separate disk i am made to purchase X amount of time from now or Bethesda releasing an actual official statement saying unequivocally that the PS3 version of Skyrim will be getting no DLC or further support.

svcks for Arkane or any other smaller company that decides to work with Bethesda, but that's just the breaks. That's just business, the business practices of your business partners reflects on you-negative or positive.

Hello - money is money.... and canceling Dishonored purchases is removing money from Bethesda. Yes, it probably effects Arkane more financially... which would make Arkane look at Bethesda saying "Thanks Beth for screwing up our extra sales on PS3 by ruining your rep with PS3 owners".

That's what it's more about.

I kind of feel bad for Bethesda because even though the way they are handling this is appalling, and they really did mess up with Skyrim for the PS3, they obviously didn't plan for this to happen. People are pissed, and they want to fix the problem, but they have messed up so bad that they may not be able to.

In all honesty, I think they should make their games for the PS3, and then port it over to the Xbox and PC because that would probably make this whole issue go away. Then when they make a DLC do the same thing, and if Microsoft buys an exclusivity period again then release the Xbox version first, and then release the other two right afterwards. So really they should have made the DLC for all the platforms before setting a release date, then release it once they are done with all of them.

More concern is Arkane studio's as only done 3 games prior to Dishonored, it would be a shame to see a promising developer go belly up cause of their parent companies bad choices. The game industry has enough Developers putting money ahead of quality.

They will do fine from the other platforms and plenty of PS3 players will buy it regardless (Especially if they haven't bought Skyrim) We as customers are unlikely to see ANY sort of apology from Bethesda concerning the Skyrim debacle. We also have to tolerate the likes of Pete Hines demonstrating public distain for users of his companies products so deciding to not support anything that gives our money to Bethesda is about our only recourse.

I am really starting to wonder if Beth is taking this issue or us ( the loyal but pissed off customers) seriously. As for that Hines article about the DLC and people not buying a game for the dlc content... well if that is a true source article that is a comment with no thought to it. Why make dlc's then, seems a waste. For me I want the DLC because of my VESTED intrest in the game already, I'm not looking for half ass ...I'm all in.

It would of been a different story if Beth had simply stated the DLC was just for xbox and PC, I would of been fine with that. But to even hint at it will be going to all platforms and not deliever, then I have a cause to get upset like the rest of you.

A [censored] one.

If no DLC is released for the PS3 by the aniversary, I'm not buying any of it but I sure hope Bethesda eventually spends enough time and resources on it to eventually release it and their profit margin for the PS3 version is in the red.

That's putting it lightly. I think we definitely need more accountability legislation in the video-game production world. On a side note. Borderlands 2 is running flawlessly for me.
