PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #21

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:45 am

Don't bother xbox didn't get compensation for the poor Morrowind PC to Xbox port, from what I've seen Bethesda has some problems when starting to work with a new console, more than likely for PS3 it's the bluray system, don't know why someone would use an inefficient style of file storage it's proven time and time again yes it holds more storage but hello ridiculous loading times and poor quality. But yeah more than likely Bethesda does not want a "re-enactment" of the Decemeber Launch when PS3 had its initial problems people storming the Tech Support area and might I say posting topics that don't have anything with tech support and making titles of "Lets Boycott PS3 Skyrim" and " Im Angry Bethesda Lied to Me" & the infamous "I Believe Bethesda should pull a patch out of there rear within 3 seconds or Ill storm gamestop for a refund" yeah you know who you where who did that and cause of swarming the tech support with "my game is broken fix it I pay 79$ so your my personal man servant Bethesda" im entitled attitude we all are paying for it now, cause Bethesda does not want to deal with that problem. Until they feel it is ready to the point where they do not have to fear that problem again it won't be out. So I hope your happy that you ranted and flammed the Tech Support area in December, end of discussion stop complaining that it's not out yet.
Ok me personally i'm tried of people bringing up, well in fallout 3 is happen or in morrowind or in New Vegas or when Ps3's Skyrim was released is happened. so we are paying the price or its happening all over again. i was not here for that stuff so i could be wrong but that all was then & this is now, & i would like to ask this question, why is it taking them longer to fix Dawnguard then it did fixing the Lag on ps3? & i dare say i think they amount of people that have come here to complain are more then the amount of people that came to complain about the lag. & its not a entitled attitude, example Thq's wwe12 said on the box it has working online & it didn't & it took them 7 months to fix it & the online is the meat of there game. & wwe12 had the most returns in the series history. if it says it on the box your entitled to it plain & simple. but stuff like bugs are not in that. example ps3's Me2 had a bug that hurt the gamers experience overall but there wasn't ranting or nothing because there was always a update on what was going on. ( & pls note this was around the same time as the ps3 infamous hacking when psn was down for months ) its amazing what just a small update or heck just chanting with the people how understanding fans can be. end of discussion? an end of discussion will happen when dawnguard is released for ps3.

I believe that if they can fix it, it will probably come free with Hearthfire.
You don't bundle a £14 DLC free with a £4 DLC.

Its not a matter of if they can fix it.

Its a matter of will they fix it. Do they consider the PS3 community worthy of expending the resources necessary to fix it? Do they estimate the financial returns for fixing the PS3 version of _insert_gamebryo_based_title_here are worth recovering the fans and modicum of respect and reputation in the industry?

Based on their history I would say the answer is a resounding no.

The that would bring up the question i am about to ask. Do people who love video games and enjoy making them run the company or do mindless suits who know nothing run the show?

If people who actually cared were running the show do you think we ever would have gotten the product as it was 11/11/11?

Well maybe the guys that care are the ones who made it, but the suits pushed them to release before it was ready. I've always had the feeling that was how it is for most gaming companies. The programmers for the most part hate the fact that their work goes out half-assed. The guys running the company care not so much. Meet the deadline that we set or find another job. Time is money!!

Then you have the ones that play at programming and act like they know what they are doing because in highschool they made a "my name is" program.

Suits?

They published in house.

Zenimax might own them but they have no control over when Bethesda releases their games.

Fallout 3 was one of the most successful RPG's of all time, they have enough money to do whatever they want. Bethesda is a AAA developer.

The entire company is to blame, not just the 'suits'.

Oh sorry about that, I didn't get the full meaning of your post. But still, I think my post stands. Bethesda could have released this so much later and created a far better product. Gimmicky release dates for the win I guess, huh?

Yup. And alot of people get caught up on that. Im sure if Beth delayed the game to make sure it was at 100% they would of had a ton of people complaining to them about that. Really it's kind of lose lose for them. I would of been happy to wait for a finished kick-ass product that Skyrim could be. Next time Beth should just surprise us. We wake up one morning and go shopping for a new toothbrush and lo and behold TES VI! WTF!!

If you bothered to even read my post they don't want flame, trolling and hate threads created in there forums in the Tech Support like when Skyrim got released because gamers now adays are spoiled rotten and believe the developers owe them homage, too avoid the 2 mths of random flame wars in there tech support area they want to make sure there are "no bugs in dawnguard at all" so perfect, this was stated that Bethesda was not happy enough with the state Dawnguard was in to release for PS3 platform, it will come out when they've made the content where the general public won't start raging in there threads and causing anarchy.

True. They would have a ton of people complaining, but they wouldn't be in such a bad situation right now, and that trade off would be worth it. Many people have lost their trust in Bethesda and the they aren't looking good at all as it is. I honestly think delaying the game would have been much better in the long run.

I hardly think expecting a functional product is being "spoiled rotten."

Well no game or dlc is perfect, if they try to make the dlc perfect, well lets just say it maybe Duke Nukem forever all over again but thats not the case because they stated that some verisons work some don't so its a memory leak problem. there already getting flamed by many people already so they failed in trying to avoid getting flamed & avoiding anarchy because if it wasn't for the mods there would be anarchy & overall if the fans waiting are even questioning if the dlc will even come out at all, that means your not updating the people enough even if its like " Well make little progess then finding a bigger problems beyond it keep tight we are working on it." it is still needed. because that itself will & has caused anarchy & rage because of those people sending out false informtion.

it's like a company making a new bicycle then a couple friends say "oh it has a water bottle holder and a bell and two seats" and then becoming angry when they find out its just a plain bike, yes new gen gamers are spoiled when it fails to meet your grand fantasies, which by the way Bethesda does not have a mind reading device, you blame the company get angry at them for not immediatly releasing a coding patch to fix a memory leak error and flood the tech support forums with ranting and angry chants for blood meaning those who can actually be helped don't because their help request in 19 pages behind in topics cause of an angry group of spoiled children, yeah I can sympathize with Bethesda for not releasing Dawnguard yet you want your "Perfect Fantasy Expansion" well it's going take a little longer. Also to add if you guys do flood the Tech Support area with rants again I will make sure to report your topics for a. inappropriate for the subforum or pre-requisites of the subforum CoC, and/or b. its in the wrong area, believe me them taking longer is better and those of you who believe that 3rd party nonsense from fear mongering youtubers of "oh nos dawnguard never coming out" unless Bethesda themselves say "we are not releasing it for said console" stop the drama stop listening to some 16 year old kid getting angry and posting lies online.

No, you still get platinum if you get all the trophies in the base game.

Wasn't Mass Effect 3 delayed for 6 months or so? Still turned out to be a commercial success.

Nope. You get mad if a company says on the box "Comes with a voucher to redeem at a later date for a water bottle holder and a bell and two seats" and then not being able to redeem your voucher because you have a slightly different bike and they can't seem to get the parts to work on your bike.

Exactly :P

Games get delayed, all the time. Some have been delayed for years, some get pushed back by months, some by a few weeks. It happens. When it happens, people get disappointed, but it doesn't blow up into what this has become.

I'm honestly just getting bored of coming back here to talk to you guys on the situation, no offense, it's just been the same thing for a few months now.

This is my first time back here posting in a few threads xD
