ive heard that its pirated copies that have this problem... not legit copies.
Quite a few people with legit copies have reported the issue too.

I just signed up to this forum to say: Yes it't true, texture loading is broken as [censored] on the 360 when playing from the hdd,and if the patch that already is out on 360 is the same patch that was supposed to fix the texture loading issue ..it didn't help textures are still broken..F you bethesda piece of sh*t liars.

@Omoplata: I bought a legit copy yesterday and texture loading is broken!

Maybe they are waiting until the game gets released?
Well why? Everybody's in a huff because nobody's officially acknowledged it yet.
And because of now word from them, everybody thinks they're sitting there twiddling their thumbs and not doing anything.
Not a good way to keep a happy-fanbase in my opinion

So it looks like it IS an issue, and downloading a patch (I'm assuming the day 1 patch we've heard about?) fixes it. My apologies to the OP :)

Thats sounds like good news, but then again, no sause, so it can be only author's assumption.

Anyone thought of maybe when the game OFFICIALLY releases, and everyone has their copy, then Bethesda will act on the reported issue? Sure people still have their "Legit" Copies, but the game isn't even supposed to be out yet period.

This reminds me alot of the old Halo 3 texture streaming issue.

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/19/bungie-addresses-halo-3-nxe-install-performance/
"The answer lies in how Halo 3 loads map data. Each map is cached onto a certain part of the HDD that is reserved for game use. Once the game is installed on the HDD, it has to read the data on one part of the drive and write it to the reserved section. While data can be read from the DVD at the same time the HDD is writing data, the HDD can't read and write at the same time. As such, loading from the HDD takes significantly longer. Bungie advises gamers not to install the game, especially if you play online, as all other players will have to wait the extra time it takes to load and cache each map."

I will NOT wait for a patch to be released. I will have to install to the HDD to play. There is now way im risking my old 360 by running of the disk for so many hours. So Oblivion textures for me. lol

Hopefully we dont have to wait New Vegas length patch delays to get this bad boy up and running in all her glory.

I don't get why people are freaking out, just play off the disc until it's resolved.

Argh! Why can't someone from BGS just come out and say "Oh, yes we have been aware of the issue and are currently finding a solution". This would suffice. :shakehead:

I'm looking forward to your results.

Unfortunately I do not notice a change with the usb too ...
I hope the team will work on a patch as soon as possible for these low-res textures.

I return to play Skyrim, Thanks all!

Do you have an xbox? Do you know how hot and loud that thing get when you play from a disk? Also, it will worn it out, so disk will die much faster.

I'm in the exact same boat, I will have to install it to the harddrive. I could risk it uninstalled but my 360 is 3 years old. If it was less then a year old I would risk it but it's not worth it, graphics aren't that important anyway and as long as the texture issues are the only problem (Besides typical beth bugs) then it's not a big deal.

They have no source from Bethesda confirming that a day one patch will fix it, therefore that article is fail.

It was only recently that I installed Oblivion on my HDD, before that I'd play hours upon hours from the disk, My disk still works and my Xbox still works, I'm pretty sure these games are designed with the game not being installed to the HDD in mind. I wouldn't worry about the disk "dying".

I don't see what the uproar is. It's not like it's the PS3 version, requiring you to install to play. If it's that big a nuisance to you, play it off the disc until it gets patched. :foodndrink:

I've played Oblivion uninstalled for gosh I'll estimate around 800 hours. I didn't have any problems with the disk so Skyrim can be played uninstalled, it's just a matter of, if you want to risk your xbox over it. My Xbox was relatively young when I played Oblivion so I could risk it no problem, now it is certainly not the case I need it installed.

I'm skeptical of the article as well. Beth know about it, I've seen two devs read the different threads on this subject so we will get an answer on this, probably Friday.
