Kotaku keeps mentioning that they're gonna be playing Bioshock 2 this weekend. Does this mean they're releasing a demo?

They get copies for reviewing purposes.

I'm so glad the defensive sequences when extracting Adam will be optional. I hated those in Bioshock 1, they felt like they took an eternity, and the enemies never stopped coming.

Having looked at some reviews and started playing the first Bioshock again, I'm getting back in the Bioshock mood. I'm looking forward to giving this a go now.

I don't want to read the review, in case of a few tiny spoilers. A 9.1 is great but did they state any flaws?

Not really. The only thing the reviewer kept stressing is that the characters weren't as strong as the first game, and that Rapture didn't have the same level of mysteriousness as it did in the first game if you played it already.

OH MY [censored] GOD! The first BioShock is ridiculously hard. I should take a break, I've been playing it for seven hours today. O_O

So if you preorder Bioshock 2 on Steam now you get a 10% discount, plus Bioshock 1 for free. Not bad. :)

I have the limited edition reserved and fully paid off. The only game that has me more excited than this one is New Vegas. I have 100% of the Achievements on the 360 version so why not get the second when the first was so much fun? And multiplayer? Yes please!

IIRC 1-3 hours away. I'm not positive since the last time I played was a few months ago.

I'd say buy this. Dante's Inferno looks like an awesome game from the demo, but if Bioshock's multiplayer is any good it will have much more play time than the God-of-War like Dante's Inferno.

I actually might have to go to the midnight release tonight, because the weather might be too bad tomorrow afternoon to pick up my copy. Heh, my mom might actually force me to stay up all night on a school night! Going to try and manage getting the special edition, although I have to call the manager for that.

True but I want to play BIoshock 1 again before I play two.Problem is I am searching for a 360 limited edition and they are not cheap or easy to come by.I also am a bit tired out from multiplayer games.MW2 has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth with online. Also AVP seems like it will have great multiplayer so that might be my fix in a week.

Talking about all these games I want and I have no idea how I am going to pay fr them all. :biglaugh:

Yeah, I'm thinking about doing the same thing. I didn't reserve a copy though. Hm.

Well, if you don't want the multiplayer then you can still be guaranteed that you'll have a great single player.

I can't say much about AvP, but between Dante and Bioshock you just have to decide whether you want to shoot things or button mash to cut them to pieces.

I'd say a little longer than that.
Spoiler
He still has to go through the apartment complex, and the area with the Little Sister nursery, which are both pretty long areas.

I hate defense/body gaurd missions in general. They're never organized and the AI is always really stupid. From Golden Eye 007 to Bruteforce to Morrowind to Oblivion or Bioshock 1.

But it sounds like avoiding these parts is going to be like avoiding the chance to kill a big daddy in Bioshock 1 and either harvest/ or save the Little Sister, in which case I have no choice but to do this.

Kotaku's http://kotaku.com/5466745/bioshock-2-review-in-case-of-rapture. He had a lot of nice things to say about it.

If only we could pre-load the game. Servers are gonna take a beating tomorrow.

I called up Gamecrazy, and there's still no one outside the store. MW2 had a lot outside already when it released, but I suppose having it feel like it's 18 degrees with a likely chance of snow means less people are going to show up. Still can't wait!
