This is a little off topic, but how exactly do you change the skins for the forum?

I dont like it one bit. This small window and the skins are driving me nuts, not to mention it hurts my eyes just to look at. Maybe with some extra work it could look better, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I liked it better before the update. This, This is just....

The top bar is completely redundant - I could just scroll to the top of a page if I want any "help", I don't need it following me everywhere. Does it save time or something?

It's really beginning to freak me out actually, not sure why. Maybe it's the fact that since I didn't use any of the features that it links too that often it's just something I can't get rid of that serves me no real purpose. I wish it would at least shrink down until I mouse over it or something.

Maybe this color is better

Or this?

It's the black background, not the text, that will cause me to have migraines. Change that and problem solved.

Agreed. Especially with the layout on my widescreen. Could you guys update it to support widescreen monitors or just switch it back? Either one would be fine.

Considering they put in fancy backgrounds in the other boards, they may not want the actual content to cover them up.

@theoldwizard
You can't now.

Nother gripe here: The mobile site svckS. I just hopped on my iPhone, and it's just bad. No avatars, no images at all actually, basic layout, etc.

Fix this, Bethesda.

You don't. There are no skins, and there aren't likely to be any.

I voted "like it". First sight made me think omgwtfbbq (and what other cliches), however I'm used to these kind of changes and I can see the advancements above the regressions. Of course the old forums were good enough, but admit it, it was getting outdated and beth did quite a reasonable job modernizing. I think the forums feel more newb-proof (I don't know wether that's positive or negative :P ) now, much less confusing than the old.

Apart from that, I agree with theoldwizard about "from". And I want links to open in a new tab dammit. And no, I have not read the thread, and yes this is a first-five-minutes-impression. Sue me.

And damn you guys are fast. And I'm starting to like it less already... hmm... Still takes some getting used to I guess

From what I can gather, "skins" is a word no longer in the forum vocabulary.

Good god, look at what they did to codeboxes!:

That must have been a cruel joke directed at me from Bethesda because now I have to go to several different threads and get rid of the now ugly-as-sin codeboxes :glare:

Thats just silly though seeing as the forum is transparent and the content is far more important than the fancy background.

I went and ate something, came back and still don't like it. We'll see what happens after I sleep on it.

I see a lot of people who want to leave the forum because of this. While I do think many are over-reacting, I can't really blame them. I certainly wont be leaving, but I currently have very little urge to stay.

I'm not a big fan of the new forums, but I would never leave here.

Same here. I don't understand why there isn't a link to CD on the main page...

Gstaff said it isn't relevant to the games, or something along those lines.

Also, Anyone have a link to the new rankings/post thing.
Seeing as i have stars now and i didnt before i assume new ranking is in with this update

They are in the forum rules thread, as they have been for three years. ;)

You know the arrow in a quote and it brings you to the post. It's not there.

Yes it is. Upper left of the quote box.

But I dunno,it's really painful to read this..hopefully they will change CD a bit in the next few days.

Ouch again went from dark colors to a bunch of white codeing. That will give me a headache, everyone talking about them is giving me one >.<

The black background is the one thing that doesn't hurt my eyes when I look at it.

Yeah, I really cannot stand the colour scheme at the moment, it hurts my eyes. I'll stay here, but... I dunno, the colour scheme's putting me off too much. I've been using this for about 30 minutes, and I've got an headache. Hopefully the admins take our comments on board and change to be less strain on the eyes.

I miss the "from" next to your avatar and join date.

Yeah, that is a bit sad. I liked being able to know where people were from, it was easier to tailor your answers to them.

It's a real shame, I thought this lesson was learned back in the 90's.

Heh, I'm not the only one thinking that.

I do wonder what will happen when TGS turns up again. He'll probably complain about forum overlords and leave in a huff. :P
