When he shows the evolution of elders scrolls series,, and show the evolution of skyrim,,, what? the npcs are robots, i didnt see anywhere that evolution,,, seriously,,
have a conversation with a NPC is so unnatural.. and the option that you have,,
1) yes 2) no?? where is no??
1)ok i will do that --->npc: ok i will wait here 2) its seems to be dangerous--->npc: yes perhaps, go i will wait here  where is my option,," ok i will do it, but a want more money", or somethig like that,,,, the dialoges in skyrim are a regression

sorry for my english

How are they a regression when there were no dialogue options in past Elder Scrolls games?

Who CARES how they act? the emotional connotations aren't important.

It's relevant to the discussion because it gets annoying when people make mountains out of molehills.

Ok my english is limited,, so sorry, oblivion had more options, and if not,, ok its not a regression, but is a debility,, and i dont see anywhere the "evolution" that todd said in the video. the game is the same with better graphics, and i like the game,, but i dont like lies,,

Yes... watching it makes me hang my head in shame a bit for Bethesda.

Many, many shallow things in Skyrim could have been replaced with these things.

Building homes with skeleton butlers?! Sign me up!

Will any of this stuff even come out in DLC? Isn't it almost always questlines and what not? Last time they released a DLC that was an actual in-game object we got Horse Armor...

Pretty disgusting imo, how long have they known about the community wanting Spears? Then, they produce all that after only a week? Holding major gameplay features back just so they can have a second bite at the cherry stinks.

This...

It makes me wonder exactly where they lay their priorities after completely ignoring some (and most) of the community's nudges in "Hey, we'd love ______ in the next game". It's a nice gesture to simply acknowledge that they hear us; however, I absolutely understand why anyone would be upset after seeing the video.

I don't mind if they come out with DLC that includes anything they previewed in the jam, it's probably one of the more reasonable branches of entertainment I could spend my money on.

Unfortunately, that's also the reason it feels like a "second bite" as Nemesis so perfectly put it.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the building homes bit. That would be excellent. A serious architectural segment to the game could add in an entirely new segment of players, and even add an entirely distinct major aspect to play.

I know I use Spore a lot as an example of "games" versus "toys", but Spore, while being a crappy, horrible game, is a great toy. What if Skyrim remained an excellent game, but also became a great toy that you could fire up just to tinker with making buildings even if you weren't in the mood to run around playing a role?

Even if you couldn't build your own home, I would settle for being able to at least purchase some sort of property, whether it be a farm or a shack, outside of the major cities.

Yeah, that would be a good option. They really should have included that from the start. Shacks available in the countryside, houses in the city, and maybe even some sort of manor house out in the wilds.

As an alternate home, being able to clear a fort or castle or similar in the wilderness and keep it for yourself would have been nice. Pay a couple guards a certain amount each day to keep the place secure while you're gone and guard your stuff.

But really, the idea of having a full-blown architectural component to the game would be just awesome, if presumably a bit difficult.

Hmmm. I've never even thought about modding, but now this is making me wanna download the CK and give it a go.

Having played almost every Elder Scrolls game before playing Skyrim and knowing what those were like and how immaculate Skyrim is compared to them, the video doesn't bother me at all. Most of those things in the video are small, extraneous, irrelevant things anyway. Oblivion was an absolutely astonishing game in so many aspects but Skyrim blows it right out of the water. I honestly think it's a little presumptuous to be mad or angry with Bethesda because they didn't squeeze in all this extra, yet mostly nonessential, stuff.

Enjoy what is in Skyrim instead of being mad about what's not.

I was expecting a steak prepared by Gordon Ramsey.

Instead they gave me a McDonald's Happy Meal.

Without the fries.

Or the toy.

The problem isn't that people are asking for these things, it's that they act like it's nothing short of a WTF OUTRAGE OMG that there aren't spears in the game, for God's sake.

What's funny is spears were only in Battlespire and Morrowind. They weren't even in Arena or Daggerfall.

So the stuff in the video is, in your words, gourmet steak but the actual Skyrim game we have now is a Happy Meal compared to that?

Didn't you know? Morrowind Is Sacred. That which came before Morrowind was mere preparatory work for Morrowind. That which has come after is mere decline. Why would you ever do anything differently than Morrowind? I mean, Morrowind was perfect, so obviously when you change from how Morrowind did things to how Morrowind didn't do things, you're by definition making a change for the worse. Why can people not understand this simple equation? MORROWIND MORROWIND ALL HAIL ALMIGHTY MORROWIND.

On a more serious note, I have actually seen people complain that voice acting has replaced screens of text representing character speech. Some people are weird.

I agree. If anything the video should make people excited and happy for future possiblities, not angry at what could have been. I would love to be able to build my own house without having to play on PC and download user made mods to do so. I'm sick of spending money on houses and not even liking them. Especially the house in Solitude. Way to grey in there for me. Looks quite depressing. Adoption is an interesting concept too. I wonder if that's actually a possibility Bethesda is considering. There were some other neat things in the video that I can't really remember right now.

On another note, I laughed at the post referring to the almightiness of the sacred Morrowind! People really do hold Morrowind on a huge pedestal..

He ment he was expecting Skyrim to be the GourMEY ( lulz ) Steak prepared by Gordan Ramsey, and what he got instead was in comparison from a Gordan ramsey Steak to a Happy Meal with no fries and no toy.

Given the state of marriage, I can't see adoption being much better. Frankly I'm skeptical that either marriage or adoption even can be worthwhile in a video game, but certainly it would take much work, and given that even the people who like the idea of marriage think the execution stinks, I don't hold out much hope.

Nope.

Prior games were steak.

Skyrim is a Happy Meal.

Kinda looking at the glass half full when theres no garuntee as Todd said that anything show will see the light of day, atleast by their hands. aside from Modders and Ghost Beth modders.

I'm not saying I'm mad, I'm not, I kinda don't care as much as I do that they had fun and they showed it off. we don't need more conspiracies to be honest, that include bashing on a demographic because they feel what is could have and was not.

The Acolytes Of Morrowind are everywhere...

Never even played Morrowind.

Having things like Spellmaking, the achievement of actually working your way up through the Mage's Guild, etc, are what make Oblivion steak compared to Skyrim.
