Yeah, I just bumped down to .09. It works better for me. :)

This fixed all of my mouse problems! Thank you!

its weired that some players have the slow vertical sensitivity, while others, ie,me, have faster vertical sensitivity... lol...
and i built a brand new computer just for this game and bf3 @@, with 590 gtx...sigh

its just fps based so higher fps and lower fps will have different X values.

sigh... i can't even play :(

Basicly if you cap cap your fps using Bandicam OR Dxtory, you can dial in setting towards the Y and X axis to be more comfortable, BUT only after capping you fps, Ideally its 60 fps, if yours cant get 60 fps on a constan t freq turn it down to where your fps stay constant, and work from there on

It helped me a great deal, indoors ill be getting 120-160 fps on ultra, outside it goes from 40-70 so you can imagine my mouse accel is going of the scale PRE capping my fps

This is on

ASUS Gtx 580 sli (with new Beta driver)
ASUS Rampage 3 extreme
i7 960
12 gigs Kingston DDR3 1600

so the performance is far from ideal, it depends more on cpu Outside hence the low gpu usage outdoors 20-30%
Inside its more 90% massive diffirence

I cannot move around properly either... everything is too slow the mouse is impossible and the keyboard is no help either.
It's ruining my enjoyment and I've been so looking forward to this game.
I was thinking I must upgrade to a more expensive video card, but judging from the posts that won't help either.
oh poop!

Its a newly released game, just give it some time, And GPU drivers are far from ideal, so by the next drivers, hopefully there will be some change, where we can actually use our Beefy cards

Bump this topic.

This is the most important issue of all the issues that Skyrim currently has.

The X and Y axes are DIFFERENT. Imagine if you woke up in the morning and found that you can turn your head, but that to look up or down forced every muscle in your body to contort in a miserable and terrible fashion.

THAT IS SKYRIM..

I did not pay 60 dollars to not-play a game that is UNPLAYABLE.

This is the most obvious mistake of all. I am very displeased.

it is NOT unplayeble, it just needs a few tweaks to its Core engine, as do the GPU drivers, might try to OC my cpu even further, but i dont have a cherry picked CPU, i won the BAD chip lottery so 3.8-4 ghz is as high it will go without adding Crazy amounts ov Voltage

+ the cpu i got isnt THE best ine, i rather would like a 2600k but since i have my mainboard , im gonna wait to upgrade, maybe till Ivy bridge

I have turned off Vsync , Acceleration and Xbox 360 controller support. My mouse is fine out in the open world of Skyrim, but whenever I enter houses or caves or small instances, The up-down axist sensitivity will go nuts. It feels like it gradually comes and gradually goes, So I can stand in one spot of the instance and feel it less than if I were standing in another. This is really odd.

the thing is, this SHOULD NOT be a problem that got overlooked for pc version... or do they expect all pc gamers play this game with a xbox controler..?
i dont want to have to install another software which i don't really trust on my computer to play this game...

Well, it gets worse when u talking to an npc indoor... have u noticed that u can actually look around when you talking to an npc? its pretty cool improvment, but with this vertical sensitivity thing, when you talk to an npc indoors and accdently moved your mouse up or down, it'll just either looking at the floor or the ceiling... @@

This is a major bug. I have VSync on (I hate tearing), and my pc isn't the fastest. So when I look around, the vertical sensitivity fluctuates wildly just standing still and looking different parts of the scenery. It's horrible. Terrible. Inexcusable.

I had the same problem + flickering screen until i used a third party program to limit my fps.

Cause: High FPS (prolly 100+), mainly due to VSync being deactivated.
Solution: Limit FPS by using a third party tool like http://dxtory.com/ or fpslimiter (google for download sources) to a value like 60 or 70.

There also is an FPS limiter on Skyrim Nexus: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34
Not sure if this one solves the problem though.

Hope it helps.

Thank god I am not the only one. I was going out of my mind fighting my first dragon. Felt like trying to look up in the sky was practiclly impossible. I was running around like crazy and when I would stop to look around I would have to keep frantically picking up my mouse and pushing up to just barely look skyward. Felt as if I had no control. I sure hope they address this issue ASAP.

As others have already pointed out, there is a bizarre link between frame rate and vertical mouse-look sensitivity. This does not affect horizontal sensitivity though. There are some workarounds being posted, but they are really only temporary "I'll live with it until an official fix is released" measures. Why this such a nonsensical link even exists is beyond me. There really is no way to "fix" it outside of the devs releasing something that will patch the game engine.

Are those .ini tweaks actually separating the mouse speed from the framerate, or is the point just to have different speeds for X and Y?

My game has been running smoothly with no real mouse problems, but where my latest save is, the framerate is really tiny for some reason. I mean like 12-15 fps. I figure maybe it's the weather effects and the dragon I saw flying around and just being in an exterior cell close to one with lots of NPCs in it. Or something. Anyway if I just make my Y speed way higher, it will be unusable when my framerate gets back to normal. (And if it doesn't, what's the point in fixing the mouse anyway?)

I already have my sensitivity near the highest end of the bar, and turned xbox controller input off within the first 60 seconds after first launching the game (why is that even a thing? Why doesn't it just say "use joystick"?) so neither of those fixes would help.

The different FPS capping solutions are clever, but do nothing if your problem is things going too slowly.

...Um, get an antivirus. That would be good. And not that Bethesda hasn't completely screwed up because they obviously have, but you can't really hold it against them if there's a solution which doesn't work for you because you keep your computer insecure.
