Wasn't going to, but the lineup's getting better so we'll see. Probably will if friends do - mostly for Bloodbath, Gojira and GWAR, although Obituary, Amorphis and Heaven and Hell should be fun too...

EDIT: Still in the air about Hellfest, too...

I was considering Hellfest myself, but as I have no friends who like this sort of music really, coupled with how most of them are on the dole - there's very little chance of it happening, unless I was to go on my bill.

Which won't happen.

Also: I could have sworn Electric Wizard were playing Hellfest this year, but I can't see it on the site. I was mostly going for them and Bloodbath. Now Bloodbath are playing Bloodstock, and EW aren't on the roster, I'm no where near as bothered.

Scored a copy of Lost Horizons by Luca Turili's Dreamquest. Good stuff so far, if you're into Symphonic Metal.

Holy crap that Eternal Oath album was awful. I don't think I've heard something that bad in ages.

My recommendation: AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

XD That was terrible.

Not even terrible in a good way, like the band wasn't trying when they made it.

So after hearing about Moonsorrow in this thread a lot I looked into their latest full length, Viides Luku: Havitetty, and I love it. I just got the copy I ordered today and I've been listening to it for a while now. I really like the folk melodies spread throughout it. They sound so.. folk'ish (?) and cool. Anyone recommend any similar music?

Oh, and the only thing I'm wondering about the album is what kind of an instrument is creating that, for lack of a better way to describe, "boing" sound in Tuleen Ajettu Maa? You can particularly hear it in the beginning of the song, but it keeps playing for a long while, though way back in the mix.

Its a mouth harp. They use it in most of their albums actually.

http://www.ironmaiden.com/. With the name, the long break between the last album and this one and the fact that in some interviews the band have stated that they've always wanted to make 15 studio albums (TFF will be the 15th) I reckon this could well be the last original release by Maiden.

I'm not too convinced by the name of the album or the Eddie they've chosen for the tour promo (fortunately if recent history shows anything the tour Eddie's are different to the album Eddies) but I reckon the album is gonna be great. The current line up hasn't released a bad album and they've had some brilliant songs on each one so hopefully they'll go out (if that is what is to happen) with a bang!

Edit: The release is slated as 'late sumer'.

I like all of Deathcrush and De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. Everything after that isn't to great IMO.

I'll check it out.

So far Deathcrush (the song) is pretty good, though I have the feeling that I'll like De Mysteriss Dom Sathanas more.

I might just be saying this because I've worn out their old stuff so much.. but I consider this album their best.

De Mysteriis is still a classic of course.

I was always a fan of Dawn of the Black Hearts Dirty, low quality black metal. The way I like to hear it sometimes.

I was going to say De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas as well. That song just sounds so evil- I love it! Deathcrush is a really good song, but I think it's ruined by Maniac's terrible vocals, so I just can't listen to the original version.

Also, does anybody know how to correctly pronounce De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas? I think it's easy other than the word "Mysteriis." I pronounce it like the English word "mysteries" but I'm not sure if that's right.

Life Eternal is also a pretty damn good song.

...So, anyone listen to Mudvayne? I love they're album L.D. 50, although the one they released a couple of months ago isn't too bad either.

Any of you UK guys want to do me a favor?

Amazon.co.uk has http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ichneumon-Method-Axis-Perdition/dp/B00008WG3Y used for about 5 pounds + shipping to your place. What I'm asking is if one of you will buy it (I'll paypal you the money) and ship it to me across the pond...amazon.co.uk doesn't allow that. That CD goes for a LOT more in the states...and has proved very hard for me to find.

They're considered Nu-Metal, which isn't discussed here. You'd be better off trying to discuss them elsewhere.

So I've been driving myself crazy. I'm trying to get my hands on some of Dark Moor's albums (namely, Gates of Oblivion and The Hall of the Olden Dreams), both of which are extremely expensive on Amazon, since the album isnt produced anymore.

Anyone else know of any good places to get CDs online?
