Skyrim Dead is Dead Thread IV

@ lorelai : Thank you for the nice comment. I just call em' like I see em' even though I'm deaf in one eye and can't hear out of the other.

I have REALLY got to increase a damage skill. This is insane. She can't kill time. I love it! Running as a S4V throws the simplest petty little encounter into a chain reaction of utter chaos, mayhem and death. The most interesting gameplay of any character by far. This is my second as such and first from the very get go.

After spending the next 24 hrs at the Keep, ( she needed her powers to reset ) we set out for Whiterun. This was more like just a mad dash as we needed to get there by3 Am at the latest. A couple of wolf encounters were no big deal, but the approach to town was carefully executed. Two hits from any guard and it's over. We sneak around the SW edge and make our way towards the stables. Crossing a gated farm, we encountered the
Spoiler
Companions and a Giant.

ME : We don't have time for this.

HANDS-ON-briast : Time for what?

Spoiler
She then rushes the flank of the Giant and starts laying into him. My heart is about to beat out of my chest. His health was pretty low already, so he was just a couple of bug bites away from dead and that's about all her hits amounted to anyway. The Giant fell and we went into Dialog with Aela. This had to be quick because the guard patrolling the outskirts was on his way back. Thankfully they had no prob with a Vamp.

It was 3:30 and the clock was ticking. We eased around the small rock wall just across from the carriage. We start to make our move when I spot some movement off to our left. It's a damn pack of cats. The traders, not the sabers. We wait for then to get out of range. It's now a little after 4. This has to happen now.

We approached the carriage as the driver jumps down and starts screaming. HOB flashes some skin and strokes his chin. The driver stutters and asks, if we need a ride. I'm not sure if she was named Hands-On-briast because that's what she does or that's what you want to do. Anyway I'm not mad. We dropped some coin and away we went. I exhaled and got ready for what was to come.

We spawned in Winterhold around 3PM, right in the pants of a Guard. I wouldn't have minded it so much, but he was pissed. HOB makes a run for it and escapes to the snow driven cliffs and hid behind a rock. The Guard gave up and we were able to make it around to the bridge. She needed that power to recharge and we had about 12 hrs to go. It would be better to wait for night anyway.

Spoiler
By the time her powers finally got reset, we had the Guards timed down. Here we go. She slips up the ramp and is met by a very hostile Faralda. HOB lays down the sixy, but Fara wasn't pickin' it up. She his HOB with a Lightning strike and her HP went down faster than a Khajiit mating ritual. She belts out the Voice of the Emperor and Fara calmed down. This has to happen fast, because we have spent BOTH powers and the Guard will be on the way back soon.I spammed the dialog and we picked up a Conjure Flame Atro spell. That was a first. I know they are random, but damn. She cast the spell and Fara was satisfied.

We make inside and picked up a couple of spells. Hands-On-briast was excited about the living quarters.

HANDS-ON-briast : Now we have a place to stash some stuff.

ME : No we don't. The game will reset and we will loose everything.

HANDS-ON-briast : WTF are you talking about?

ME : Oh...um...th...there's a...it wi... *sigh* The Khajiit staying next door gets hopped up on Moon Sugar and steals stuff!

HANDS-ON-briast : I see. Well we should find somewhere else then. That Bastard!

ME : I know, huh? Geez...some folks...

Now we need more coin. The Inviso spell is a must, if we plan to get into Markarth. That place has my favorite place to start out for a stashing joint. Before we leave, she needs to dump the loot we brought with us at the trader in town. HOB practiced her illusion skill, while we waited for the trader to open. Around 8 AM, we eased back into town. Fara was at the entrance still. We were in sneak mode and approached the edge of the bridge and scouted for Guards.

Bam! We go into dialog with a courier. He has a damn letter to deliver. I start spamming through the dialog. It's like a freaking cut scene and we wait it out. Exiting out of dialog, he is hostile and runs into town. The Guards are still out of range.

Bam! We go into dialog again! This time It's some nut job wanting to challenge HOB to an Arcane duel. What the hell is going on? HOB accepts. Well, that was stupid. So we start running back up to the College. He hits her with a Lightning Bolt and it wasn't pretty. She was left with about 25% HP left. We just ran. I have no idea what happened to the Courier and don't care.

I can hear Fara jabbering something. He gave up the chase and started swinging a dagger at her. Her AI was screwed up, so she just stands there. By now the guards are back and the compass is lit up with so many red dots, it looks like a health bar. There were a couple of mages from the College on their way back from the tavern, I guess. And it was madness.

Hands-On-briasts summoned a FA to help out and it drew the attention of a Guard. He made short work of that headed after us. Downing the only two Hpots we had, we run back to the dorm room. The Guard made chase and entered right behind us. Wrong move on his part. He was met with a face full of kiss my ass, from the other mages and it was over.

We looted his body and let her Hp and Mag regain. now we should be able to trade. Slowly moving back into town, we met the mage coming form the previous encounter. I guess things have calmed down from before. Boy did they ever...The bridge entrance was littered with bodies. Five bodies, as a matter of fact. The Guard, the Courier, the Challanger, the Merchant and her brother.

HANDS-ON-briast : Damn, girlfriend! Did you have to kill the whole town?

FARALDA : The College will not be overthrown.

HANDS-ON-briast : I guess not. Now what?

ME : I think we need to teleport back to the Keep and regroup. Try a little trading where there are no Guards.

HANDS-ON-briast : Calgon! Take me away!

ME : What? How do y...oh nevermind...

Delvin (sans Lydia - scripting issues on a quest forced a reload and dismissal) is currently at Winterhold pursuing the Thieves Guild quest line. Without Lydia for backup, his survival chances are seriously diminished, so he'll go looking for someone new before proceeding further.
Hello MarStinson,

Yeah, having a companion is essential in a DiD game, especially if you're playing on a higher difficulty. Lydia makes a fun companion, even if she is a bit surly about carrying our burdens...

I did two firsts... I played as a Breton for the first time and I played "Dead is Dead" for the first time. My game just ended. :obliviongate:
Greed and arrogance killed my necromancer. Level 22.

Woops, I should clarify. He was using Sild the Warlock as a Thrall. My necromancer that was killed was named Xarus the Necromancer. He was an old Breton, but his exact age was unknown. He lived a vial, dark, and corrupt life...just the way a necromancer should.

update on Ri'narassa-dar:

having been told about a golden claw Ri' went into the nearby barrow to find the thief that had in fact stolen the trader's priceless treasure. unfortunately, i had to kill the scum when he betrayed his word. what good is a thief without honor amongst his brethren? to Ri''s delight she not only received numerous items that she could sell for gold, but, a mysterious dragonstone, as well. after returning the claw to it's owner Ri' found it likely that the town of whiterun might contain the answers she sought concerning the strange artifact.

after relieving the town and citizens of riverwood of most of their valuables Ri' made it to whiterun where the local jarl and his wizard informed her that her services could be of use against a dragon that had recently attacked the city. initially, Ri' balked at the offer only to reconsider once the realization of complete access to the jarl's castle dawned on her. but, how would she do against the huge worm?

glory! Ri' was able to bring down the dragon with a final draw of her bow. and, then, the oddest feeling Ri' had ever experienced occurred as a power from the dragon coursed through her body filling her mind with strange symbols that she desperately wanted to give voice to. the urge continued to grow until Ri' was forced to shout out a word of power.

why are they calling me the Dragonborn?

Wouldn't being a Necromancer mean you're playing Dead-is-Undead?

Didn't make much progress on S'Kivir B'Eyt yesterday, mostly did some custodial work to get rid of crap he had in storage that he was never going to use. Going to work on the Stormcloak line of the Civil War today, then either the TG or MQ (haven't decided yet). Getting impatient for the CK, as I really want to start more characters but need to change some things first.

Syrion, my sellsword, has attained his 5th cycle and has arrived in Whiterun. I'm reluctant to take on any major quests just yet, but I let Sven remain behind with his family in Riverwood, so I'll need to find an ally to watch my back. I might visit the Jarl so that Lydia can join me, but that requires that I go up against one of those large lizards (on expert difficulty and with the Deadly Dragons mod). Even with the Whiterun guard helping, it'll be quite a test, I'm sure. Hmm. What to do? I don't really want to join the Companions, at least not right now.

Maybe I'll just hunt the area around Whiterun for a bit and work on my smithing, but I'd be doing it solo.

Well,Glathor is still alive, and game is getting harder and harder to find out in the plains near whiterun, and the bandits are more abundant. This seems to be bad time of year, and i might end up traveling to Riverwood to work at the mill and chop wood. I've had some pretty close calls, especially with some hired thugs hte other day, luckily some of the citizens of Riverwood helped. Im not sure i would've made it, Im going to be more careful and have my character watch his temper, he's already murdered one person, Nazeem. But his crime days are over, not good for a dead is dead character :P

Weedum-Ja had a REALLY close call today. He was walking into redbelly mine to get some ebony to sell and he walked right off the edge, luckily he survived, but with barely any health left. He has continued on his journey to riches, now with over 1600 gold!

Flavius Aetius has joined the Companions. His starting quest, unlike poor Fewrfre's, was easy: kill a pair of vampires. Flavius tracked them down to their hideout, and proceeded to duel the young apprentice vampire. During the battle, our intrepid hero was afflicted with the Sanguinare Vampiris disease. Intrigued, Flavius chose to let the disease run its course, and in 3 days time he embraced vampirism and all its immortality has to offer. Considering his close connection with the civilized world, Flavius has decided to feed regularly to maintain his acceptable appearence, at least until he has become well established in the Thieves Guild, Companions, Winterhold College, and Dark Brotherhood. Once he is respected among those circles, to the point where he can safely live as a stage four vampire, he will likely release his inhibiting restraints. (on a side note, thinking of using the console to become a "werepire").

Well, now that hunting isn't so good this time of year, Iv'e taken to doing odd jobs around the hold of Whiterun. I'm finding that chopping wood and putting wood on the mill earns me a fine coin.

IREadam,

I too noticed that the hunting around Whiterun is not very good right now. I did manage to down a deer at the end of the day, but for most of the day I shot wolves and (dare I say it?) mudcrabs. Not much of an exciting day for an adventurer who will one day save the world...

Well sorry to say, Pahldus Pendragon fell at the hands of Ghunzul. He had grown overconfident in the Ebony Blade and failed to recognize the true power of an Orc Berserker with a 2H Warhammer, Thinking he had time before needing to quaff a healing potion, he stupidly had his skull caved in by Ghunzul.

I'm so sorry! What a coincidence because:

I regret to announce this is the end...of J'Zero.
He was so eager to get that Orcish armor! So he went towards Bilegulch Mine. He dispatched the bandits outside, but he was left with only 2 health potions. Not wanting to make the trip back (I don't use fast travel), he went inside the mine where the Orc Bandit Chief of murder-death-kill took him down with 2 swings of his 2-handed sword. Jeez...it was really my stupidity that killed J'Zero...

R.I.P.

Felled by a Bandit Orc Chief. May he walk on warm sands!

Lol, this sounds like the bandit should walk on warm sands.

My next DiD playthrough will be a redguard dual scimitar wielder. I will take the quest from the Alik'r as soon as it pops up, and will side with Saadia.

The characters goals are to become the thane of every hold and collect as many rare weapons as possible. This character is based off an old D&D character from my youth.

He will be generally a good guy, not necessarily seeking glory, but not shunning it either.

I will focus on smithing, one handed, and light armor. Secondaries will be speech, archery and just a little alchemy. Will start it tomorrow sometime.

Delvin continues. Lots of sneaking as he works toward completing the Thieves Guild quest line (one hold left to go). He hired and then married Jenassa, who promptly tried to sell him back all of the equipment he had given her when she opened her store. Something isn't quite right with that picture. Is she maybe a distant cousin to Belethor or something? Delvin has resolved to sleep lightly lest he wake up to find a pricetag stuck on his forehead in the morning.

Following a ruleset from a youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipVfXDxw7DI&feature=related, I have made a roleplay DiD hunter character. Probably the most enjoyment I have gotten out of this game. Incredibly tense.

I'm wearing fur armor I found on a bandit who had been killed by pit wolves. I have had a very close call with a sabretooth at level 4 however after swimming across a river and sprinting I got clear of the beast.

My character is a bosmer named Galmir. He is a professional hunter, no quests has he done or will do. Character literally has me on my seat whilst playing, I have the music off which enhances the already tense experience. Highly recommend this sort of playthrough, makes you think a lot more knowing that one death and that is it.

That sounds like a lot of fun. Something I must try.
Would love to read about Galmir's adventures.

Flavius continues. He's about to meet Skjor and Aela outside the underforge to become a werewolf. He's not done any other serious quests. Luckily, he travelled to Dawnstar and mined the crap out of the quicksilver mine there. He now has full elven armor with upgrades (the armor itself is the better, gilded elven), an elven bow with 200 elven arrows, and an elven war axe and shield, all at superior quality. He's well enough geared for now until I get into glass.

Kasil Brahman
Redguard Merchant/Warrior
Focus: Primaries: One Handed / Light Armor / Smithing Secondaries: Speech / Alchemy / Archery / Two Handed
Paths: Main Quest / Thanes / General Exploration / Crush the Dark Brotherhood / Kill Thalmor on sight

Backstory: Kasil was born and raised in Hammerfell. His parents were successful merchants and raised Kasil to follow in their footsteps, however Kasil had a more adventurous streak in him. He took up smithing as a hobby and practiced with weapons alot. During the Great War, Kasil worked delivering weapons to the soldiers of Hammerfell. He continued this profession even after the war. Recently he was bringing a shipment of weapons to Skyrim. He was to meet his contacts at Darkwater Crossing. He made it across the border with no problems, but when he arrived at Darwater Crossing, he and his clients, which turned out to be Ulfric Stormcloak and his rebels, were captured by the imperials. Kasil realized quickly that they had followed him ever since he crossed the border. Sentenced to death for illegally crossing the border and the illegal sale of weapons to the rebels. He along with the rebels were brought to Helgen to be executed.

Kasil thought that the bribe he had paid to an Imperial would keep his head off the chopping block at least. When the Imperials checked their lists his name had been ommitted. Hah, thought Kasil, that was a well placed bribe. However the Imperial captain decided to execute him anyway. He could not believe a fellow Redguard would do this to him. Clearly she had discovered the bribe or maybe she was embarassed that a fellow Redguard would be working with the rebels. Whatever the reason the spite in her eyes was clear. Death was imminent, or so it seemed. As he was led to the block, the strangest thing happened. On his knees awaiting the death blow from the headsman's axe, Kasil saw a dragon, or at least that was what it looked like, land on top of the tower and attack. Next thing he knew, he was being called by that rebel that he had met on the wagon ride in. He and the rebel ran to hide in a tower.

After jumping out of the tower, he had followed an Imperial soldier trying to get people to safety. Once they reached the keep, Kasil was faced with a dilemma: stick with the kind hearted Imperial or join up with the friendly rebel. Remembering the spite in the Redguard captain's eyes, Kasil knew if he stayed with the Imperials he would just end up on the chopping block again, so he went with the rebel hoping to escape. Once in the keep, Ralof, that was the rebel's name, freed him from the bindings. While they were searching for a way out, they were discovered by the Imperial captain. Kasil did not hesitate and took her out. Gathering up some armor and a pair of swords, Kasil and Ralof fought their way through the keep intent on escaping. It was harrowing, and they faced not just Imperials, but giant spiders that Kasil would learn were called Frostbite Spiders and a large bear. But escape they did. Kasil followed Ralof to a small village know as Riverwood.

Here Kasil met Ralof's sister, Gerdur. Gerdur and her husband Hod owned and ran the sawmill. They offered to help Kasil out for awhile. Kasil then went to sell off some stuff, on his way he was approached by some bard named Sven. Sven wanted him to deliver a letter to the young woman in the general store and tell her it was from someone named Faendal. He reluctantly agreed to do this, but when he entered the store and saw the beautiful young lass, he simply could not lie to her. He told her that the letter was written by Sven and what he had intended. She thanked him and she noticed he seemed to be suffering from a fever. Turned out Kasil had contracted Bone Break Fever when fighting the bear back in the keep. After selling his goods, he talked to Faendal as suggested by Camilla. Faendal mentioned that there was a small shrine to Talos back up the road he had come down. Kasil thanked him and set off to the shrine with an offering.

Upon arriving at the shrine, he found it littered with several bodies. Amongst them, he found a Thalmor agent. It was now getting dark and Kasil needed to find some place to camp for the night. He noticed a campfire back in the direction he had come from so he decided to head over and see if they would share their camp for the night. He was prepared to pay them. However when he got close enough for them to spot him, they grabbed their weapons and moved to attack. Despite his pleas, they were intent on killing. Deciding that they were bandits, most likely the killers of those at the shrine, he did what he must and put them down. It was really quite a lopsided fight. They were used to fighting those with no training or skill and weren't ready to face a true warrior. After removing the bodies from the camp, Kasil spent the night uninterrupted. In the morning he returned to Riverwood with a new purpose. This harsh land was ripe with adventure, the adventure he had always dreamt of. He would spend some time adventuring here before returning to Hammerfell.

Thank you!

I'm seriously thinking on starting a Stage 4 Vampire..SENIOR CINCO's character and story somehow made them extremely appealing! I never played a vampire in Skyrim.
I think I'll also start as a vampire from day 1...add the spell(disease) through console.
Will report back once I think up something.
